Design-build provides the Owner with single source responsibility for design, engineering, price, schedule, quality, delivery and performance of their building.

 

The Owner becomes part of the ‘team’ with the Architect, Engineers and Contractor who as a group, share a common agenda to decide what are the most important features of the facility, so that the ‘team’ can appropriately put more emphasis on design and costs for certain features and less on others, resulting in a more practical, economical and functional building.

 

Overall design and construction time-frames are much shorter than the design and general tender format. Design packages are prioritized when the work is required by the project schedule and permits are staged accordingly to allow for the construction to be fast-tracked.
